What is Career Technical Education (CTE)?

CTE is a sequence of electives that allows students to explore a career. Electives aligned to a specific career or sector form a pathway. The mission of CTE is to empower all students to be successful citizens, workers and leaders in a global economy (source).

Graduation Requirements

Students are required to take the following to graduate. Note that the CTE courses we offer can count as a College Prep Elective or General Elective if a student has already earned enough credits towards CTE/VAPA/Special Programs.

  • 1 year of a CTE/VAPA/Special Programs
  • 1 year of College Prep Elective
  • 2 years of General Elective
