Message from Adriana Contreras, Community Liaison

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!

As the new bilingual Community Liaison at Branham High School, I am looking forward to getting to know our wonderful families. You can read more about me in my Branham Bio.

My role is to support our Branham families. Throughout the year, I will share useful resources, provide parent workshops, help families understand our school system, and help parents support their child’s education. I very much look forward to working with our Branham students, parents, faculty and Community Resources.

Together we can help our students have a successful school year.  Please contact me if you have questions. I am here to assist you.

How does the Community Liaison support the Branham community?

The Branham bilingual Community Liaison supports students, parents, staff, and Community groups in a variety of ways including

  1. Assisting in Branham’s ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meetings and promoting the participation of parents of our diverse population.
  2. Assisting in “Familias Unidas” meetings which is a Spanish Speaking Parent Participation Program at Branham dedicated to providing the tools parents need to actively participate and help their students to strive during high school and beyond.
  3. Helping connect families with appropriate resources at school and in the community.
  4. Assisting with registration/data confirmation at the start of the school year.
  5. Aiding communication between the school, teachers, and parents.
  6. Translating transcripts, emails, announcements, meetings with teachers and office administration.

As a parent, if you have any questions or concerns about your student’s academic performance, attendance, ways to help at home, etc. feel free to contact me by phone, email or stop by. It will be a pleasure to meet and help you!

Show your student that school matters, and that you are invested in their success by being involved in school activities! Also, demonstrate to your student that success in school is the pathway to college, a career and a productive life!

ELAC: Our English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of parents and staff who help identify needed supports for English Learner success.

FAMILIAS UNIDAS:  This group is for the Latino Parents at Branham, our goal is to create a united community between parents, staff, and administration in order to better support our Latino students at Branham.
