How to Participate

Athletes

Welcome to Branham Athletics.

Here are the steps to follow to tryout for a sport:

1. Schedule a sports physical with a physician.

The next round of sports physicals at BHS have been scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th at 2:00pm in the ASB Office (cost is $30, first come first served).  The 2024-25 Athletic Physical Form is available HERE

You may also schedule a sports physical with your family physician or a local clinic after June 6, 2024.  Please bring a copy of the 2024-25 Physical Form.  Student/athletes and parents complete the rest of this form.

NOTE: ONLY PHYSICALS COMPLETED AFTER JUNE 6th, 2024 WILL BE VALID FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR.

HEART SCREENINGS ARE ALSO REQUIRED FOR 9TH AND 11TH GRADE STUDENTS
CUHSD requires that 9th and 11th grade athletes complete a heart screening as part of their clearance for participation in athletics.  This means that all 9th and 11th grade district athletes are required to have a heart screening in addition to their pre-participation sports physicals.
Students may be screened with their health care provider or through the Kyle J Taylor Foundation that CUHSD has partnered with.  The screening for Fall Athletes at Branham will be held on August 7th. 2024. Students may be screened at any CUHSD school.
The cost to be screened is $10.
