How to Participate
Athletes
Here are the three steps to follow to tryout for a sport:
1. Schedule a sports physical with a physician
- Students need one physical per year to participate. Only physicals completed after June 6th, 2024 are valid for the 2024-25 school year.
- Students may schedule a sports physical at school, with your family physician, or a local clinic. The next round of sports physicals at Branham have been scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th at 2:00pm in the ASB Office (cost is $30, first come first served).
- Bring the 2024-25 Athletic Physical Form (English, Spanish) to your physical for the doctor to complete. Student athletes and parents complete the rest of the form.
- New Requirement: Heart screenings are required for 9th and 11th grade student athletes. Students may be screened with their health care provider or through the Kyle J Taylor Foundation (upcoming screenings) that CUHSD has partnered with. The screening for Fall Athletes at Branham will be held on August 7th. 2024 (registration). Students may be screened at any CUHSD school. The screening cost is $10.
2. Complete the online registration process
- Create a new account or login here and upload your completed Athletic Physical Examination Form to complete the process.

3. The athletic department will notify the head coach when each student athlete has been cleared
- Student/athletes should check the sport page for the start date of the season and complete the interest form on the sport page so the coach has your contact information.
- Student-Athletes must have insurance coverage in order to participate in sports. Information about one insurance option may be found here.
Coaches
Here are the steps to apply for a coaching position at Branham High School. Please contact Athletic Director Kaleb Lane with any questions.
- Contact the Athletic Director (AD) regarding the position desired with a letter of interest and resume. Following the screening process, the AD may contact you for an interview.
- Once offered the position, the AD will direct you through the process of getting cleared with Campbell Union High School District (CUHSD).
- Once cleared by CUHSD, all coaches must create a profile on Home Campus complete the following certifications and upload them to their profile.

Take the Fundamentals of Coaching course here to earn a lifetime certification for $50.
Concussion Certification
Take the Concussion in Sports course here for free. Note that recertification required every 2 years.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification
Take the Sudden Cardiac Arrest course here for free. Note that recertification required every 2 years.
Heat Illness Prevention Certification
Take the Heat Illness Prevention course here for free. Note that recertification required every 2 years.
CPR, First Aid, & AED Training
Coaches may schedule these courses for themselves or contact the AD for CUHSD scheduled classes.
Drivers
